One reason being an NBA fan is great is you can have endless conversations and debates with anyone, new friends and old, spouses and strangers. Was it lame for KD to leave OKC? Why doesn’t Curry show up against the Cavs? Why aren’t the Timberwolves better this year? But I know from experience there are some questions not all NBA fans are interested in answering. These questions tend to relate to the relationships, friendships, detailed habits, thoughts and feelings of NBA players, often those who don’t get much playing time (e.g., do you think Patrick McCaw felt sad when he was sent down to the D-league? Which of his teammates cheered him up? And how?)
ZboKnows will respond to these questions in a regular column so your friends don’t have to ignore you, or worse, answer you. Readers are encouraged to submit their questions of a similar theme and caliber on the Contact Us page for future columns.
Will Curry be just as adorable when he is 40, 50, 90?
40: The Baby-faced Assassin’s last year in the NBA will be a strong farewell showing (think Tim Duncan/Dirk Nowitzki, not Kobe), but what will impress us more than his ability to stay a respectful 3-pt assassin, will be his ability to stay baby-faced.
50: Only 10 years later? Still baby-faced. Still adorable.
90: Curry is definitely a Benjamin-button of adorableness. He is hitting his peak at 90.
Who is James Harden’s best friend in the NBA?
His own reflection in the mirror? All jokes aside, he does have a best friend and that is awesome:
Does Lebron James eat ice cream during the NBA season?
The internet is a powerful tool that can answer many a strange and difficult question. But when you Google “Lebron James + ice cream,” you are met with more questions than answers. We can solve this one with logic though: A) we know he cares immensely about his body and health; B) we know Nike’s Bring Your Game commercial makes a joke of the fact that Lebron eats kale, spirulina, and ginger cake as a special snack (and as I refuse to doubt that Paul George actually has a hot tub book club as depicted, I must also believe Lebron snacks on kale cake); and C) he has never been seriously injured.
A + B + C = Lebron definitely does not eat ice cream during the NBA season.
Who is your favorite WNBA player?
Most NBA fans can’t answer this, but it is time for change. We can do this together! NBA players know what’s up:
But we don’t have to take NBA players’ word for it. Check out the last few final plays and game winning shot from Nneka Ogwumike for inspiration:
